Cultural Heritage: The Art of Balancing Conservation and the Commercial

Matthew was born and raised in Beijing. He is the China Representative of The Prince’s Foundation School of Traditional Arts since 2014, and he was the founding Managing Director of Beijing Cultural Heritage Protection Centre (CHP) (2006-2009), the former China Representative of The Prince’s Charities Foundation (China) (2009-2013). Since 2016, he re-joined CHP as its Trustee on a volunteer basis. In recent years, he was instrumental in the completion of a few heritage preservation projects, including the documentary film The Emperor’s Secret Garden, as well as the popular Shijia Hutong Museum in Beijing.
