Connections through Culture (CtC) is a long-term mobility programme led by the British Council, in China and the UK. Developing cultural collaborations between artists and arts organisations, it supports long-lasting relationships between the two countries.
Over 13 years, CtC offers development grants to UK / China arts professionals and organisations to travel, meet and develop collaborative relations. Over the duration of the programme it has also offered varying levels of support, information, advice and networking opportunities.
In 2018, the British Council commissioned Tom Fleming Creative Consultancy to conduct an evaluation for the programme. The evaluation provides an overview of the programme by drawing data from the past 28 rounds, interviewing grantees and surveying applicants. The final report describes how this investment has been impactful for UK/China arts organisations and practitioners and comes with recommendations for future development.
