Funded by the British Council China, Talking Through Internships offers a four-week opportunity for designers to work in the burgeoning creative industries of Shanghai and London. The programme addresses the need for more UK and Chinese design professionals with the cross-cultural skills needed for future success. Applicants across all disciplines can apply in their second year of study.
Each student pays their own living expenses but is awarded economy return flights, accommodation, visa costs and a 4-week industry internship in Shanghai. Compliance with UK and Chinese Government rulings means that each intern is allowed temporary student status of the host university.
In return each student is required to submit a report, with images of the internship for the website. Each student has to present their Chinese experience to staff and students on their return and act as an ambassador for the project to potential internships donors and sponsors.
