FIRST International Film Festival to Open with ‘The Horse Thief’ and ‘Parasite’ 

The 13th FIRST International Film Festival has been set to open on July 20 with the 4k restored version of Chinese director Tian Zhuangzhuang’s The Horse Thief as well as Korean director Bong Joonho’s recent award-winning film Parasite. The selection of the two films reflects the theme of this year’s Festival: Back to FIRST, Back to Future. Made in 1986, The Horse Thief is considered as a representation of the works by the fifth-generation Chinese filmmakers. Parasite, which recently won the director a Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival, is to represent today’s cinema. Read more on Mtime
